1. Acquisition of a Mining Company, a deal worth over Usd 1bn.
2. Financing and construction project of an international chain of hotels with a deal valued in excess of Usd 39M.
3. Advised on the acquisition of a medium sized hotel, Kendwa Beach Resort, in Zanzibar. Deal value- Usd 7.6M.
4. A review of various rules and regulations under the Laws of Tanzania.
5. Involved in contract negotiations with the Government on behalf of a foreign company for the laying out of fiber optic cables across Tanzania and in the landlocked countries of Burundi, Rwanda, Malawi and Zambia.
6. Consulted for various large conglomerates in rescheduling loan facilities and negotiating better terms on loans.
7. Consulted for some of the biggest names in the mining industry and acquired over 200 prospecting licences, in addition to converting primary mining licences to ‘Mining Licences’.
8. FB Attorneys was involved in the team that successfully conducted an environmental and social impact assessment of two mines.
9. Consulted for an airline on air traffic rights in the region in addition to negotiation of a wet lease.
10. The energy team has been active in negotiating and drafting production sharing agreement for some of the most lucrative offshore blocks.
11. Consulted for one of the largest banks in Africa on a turn-key hydro power energy project. Our banking and finance team is routinely involved in perfection of securities, conducting due diligence, drafting of banking documents, vetting documents, enforcement of securities and loan collections. Recently the team was involved in a syndicated loan involving four banks and a private equity fund.
12. Our competition team applied for and was successful in getting merger clearance for many clients; presently the team is involved in one of the largest anti-trust cases in the region.
13. Our tax team is also involved in various large tax matters both at litigation and pre litigation stages before various boards and tribunals.
14. At any point in time, the FB Attorneys arbitration team has cases where the venue for arbitration is in London, Dubai, Johannesburg or Paris, under LCIA, ICC rules.
15. Consulted for a large bank that was intending to enter the market by acquiring a smaller bank.
16. The mergers and acquisition team in conjunction with the tax team advised a large cement manufacturer on an acquisition in Tanzania.
17. The corporate team assisted a client to bid a tender for one of the largest bridge projects in Tanzania.
